The following is the description of this very important legacy -
*Sophie wanted to be a pediatric nurse. Throughout her life, she had a heart disease called Aortic Stenosis. Sophie passed away on December 20th of complications from her third open heart surgery. During her 17 years on this world, she was a wonderful daughter, friend, cousin, niece and granddaughter. Her family and friends held her close and we miss her every moment. Sophie wanted to be a pediatric nurse so she could help kids like her. All money raised will go to Sophie’s new memorial scholarship fund. This scholarship will be awarded by the West Valley Foundation to students who are going into nursing so that Sophie’s dream can live on.*
This Scholarship raised nearly $70,000. A true testament to the impact Sophie and the Hawley Family has had on not only the WV Community, but so many people in their lives. This Scholarship will live on for years to come.
