WVHS Return to School Information

Welcome back WVHS Students and Parents! Please look over the items below that provide you with a bit of information for the upcoming school year. This page only scratches the surface when it comes to the wealth of information we provide you throughout the year. Our primary way of communication will be through email, so please make sure your email and contact information is updated in your Skyward account. We recommend checking the front page of our website (wvhs.wvsd.org) as we post new information often. If you have questions or need assistance please contact our main office at 509-922-5488.

The regular bell schedule below will be followed for most weeks. Any alternate schedules for holiday/non-school days, finals, or early releases, will be posted online and sent via email. See below for the schedule for the first week of school.

Class schedules will be available in Skyward on August 28th. Please contact your counselor via email regarding schedule change requests or questions.

Grades 10 and 12 - Reghan Krestian ([email protected])

Grades 9 and 11   - Kyle Bush ([email protected])

IEP Counselor      - Katrina Finnegan ([email protected])

WVHS does not have a specific school supply list for students. We recommend getting general supplies for your student to manage their 6 different classes. (Pens, pencils, paper, notebook, folders etc.) If your student needs any specific supplies for a class, that will be communicated the first week of school by the teacher in the class syllabus.

School picture day is Friday September 15th and retake day is Friday October 20th. Stay tuned for more information about ordering.

As of the 2023-24 school year, the West Valley School District will begin fully implementing ParentSquare, a new school-home communications platform that allows for consistency across our schools. ParentSquare is a simple and engaging platform that can communicate with our families in a variety of ways. ParentSquare is a single platform that engages every parent/guardian with school communications - all the way from the district office to the classroom teacher, and ALL IN ONE PLACE!  Parent/guardians will no longer need to search various platforms for information. CLICK HERE to get registered and learn more!

Registering riders will ensure that there is adequate space on the school bus to accommodate all students who choose to ride, as well as achieve a new and improved level of safety and communication for WVSD riders and their families.
To register CLICK HERE
After bus routes are finalized this summer, the Transportation Department will contact you directly to confirm your student's transportation details through email and/or by phone. Contact the WVSD Transportation Department at (509) 922-5467, option 1 or email [email protected] with any questions. CLICK HERE to visit the District Transportation page.

Please familiarize yourself with Skyward Family Access and make sure your contact information is up to date. Every parent has a unique log in (separate from their student) that allows them to check grades, contact teachers, receive important announcements/dates and update any information under your student’s profile. This same login also allows you to make any kind of payment and register for sports, activities and events through the “make a payment” portal. Skyward and email is the main avenue the school will use to get masses of information to you as parents. If you need help with your log in please contact our main office at 509-922-5488 option 5.

Using the instructions below, we ask that you electronically update, verify, sign and fill out a few District required forms. Parent/guardians are to complete the “Current Student Information Update” for each of their students. This process should only take you a few minutes to complete. Please see the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your Skyward Family Access
  2. Click on the Online Registration tab on the left
  3. A list of steps will show up on the right side of your screen.
  4. Each form will have a few required fields for updates, information and electronic signatures.
  5. Remember to click the “complete step” box at the bottom of the page after EACH STEP
  6. Click the submit box at the end

We ask you have this completed by September 30th.

*Forms are only necessary from one Guardian

*If you have more than one student at WVHS you will need to complete this separately for each of them

* Don’t have time to complete it all in one sitting? No problem, it will save each form as you go

The student handbook is located on the website at wvhs.wvsd.org under the Family Resources tab. A few important sections to be familiar with are the Dress Code, Attendance Policy and Cell Phone Usage. View the student handbook HERE
