WVHS Return to School Information

Welcome back WVHS Students and Parents! Please look over the items below that provide you with a bit of information to be ready for the upcoming school year. Our primary way of communication will be through ParentSquare so please make sure your email and contact information is updated in your ParentSquare and Skyward account. We recommend checking the front page of our website (wvhs.wvsd.org) as we post new information often. If you have questions or need assistance please contact our main office at 509-922-5488 option 5.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

WVHS does not have a specific school supply list for students. We recommend getting general supplies for your student to manage their 6 different classes. (Pens, pencils, paper, notebook, folders etc.) If your student needs any specific supplies for a class, that will be communicated the first week of school by the teacher in the class syllabus.

PICTURE DAY
School picture day is Friday September 13th and retake day is Friday October 18th. Picture packets will be sent home the first week of school. Ordering information will be posted on our website.

PARENTSQUARE (NEW!)

Last year, the West Valley School District fully implemented ParentSquare, a new school-home communications platform that allows for consistency across our schools. ParentSquare is a simple and engaging platform that can communicate with our families in a variety of ways. ParentSquare is a single platform that engages every parent/guardian with school communications - all the way from the district office to the classroom teacher, and ALL IN ONE PLACE!  Parent/guardians will no longer need to search various platforms for information. CLICK HERE to get registered and learn more!

BUSING
Registering riders will ensure that there is adequate space on the school bus to accommodate all students who choose to ride, as well as achieve a new and improved level of safety and communication for WVSD riders and their families.
To Register for the 24-25 School Year  CLICK HERE

*To ride the bus on the first day of school, your student must be registered on or before Saturday August 10th. Registrations after this date will be processed in the order they are received, potentially delaying their ability to ride.

Contact the WVSD Transportation Department at (509) 922-5467, option 1 or email [email protected] with any questions. CLICK HERE to visit the District Transportation page for more detailed bussing information

SKYWARD FAMILY ACCESS

Please familiarize yourself with Skyward Family Access and make sure your contact information is up to date. Every parent has a unique log in (separate from their student) that allows them to check grades, contact teachers, receive important announcements/dates and update any family or emergency information under your student’s profile. Please log in and make sure phone numbers and addresses are accurate and up to date. If you need help with your Skyward log in please contact our main office at 509-922-5488 option 5.

ELECTRONIC ANNUAL FORMS

Using the instructions below, we ask that you electronically update, verify, sign and fill out a few District required forms. Parent/guardians are to complete the “Current Student Information Update” for each of their students. This process should only take you a few minutes to complete. Please see the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your Skyward Family Access
  2. Click on the Online Registration tab on the left
  3. A list of steps will show up on the right side of your screen.
  4. Each form will have a few required fields for updates, information and electronic signatures.
  5. Remember to click the “complete step” box at the bottom of the page after EACH STEP
  6. Click the submit box at the end

We ask you have this completed by September 30th.

*Forms are only necessary from one Guardian

*If you have more than one student at WVHS you will need to complete this separately for each of them

* Don’t have time to complete it all in one sitting? No problem, it will save each form as you go
