Honor Cord and NHS Stoles

Good Morning,

For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Mr. Shryock and I am an ELA Teacher at WVHS. I am also the one in charge of getting each and every one of your your honor cords for your upcoming GRADUATION!!! Congrats class of 2020, you made it!! Just days before your graduation, on June 11th at 1:30pm, you can drive by WV and pick up your cords from me. If you are an NHS Student, I will also have your NHS stoles! Traditionally, we would have a big celebration for you honoring your hard work, dedication, and overall success in high school, but this year we have to do things differently. It would also be at this celebration that we would ask for you to give a couple different speeches; however, because we are not able to do the speeches this year, and because I think the staff would really appreciate it, I am asking each of you to write a thank you note to one staff member at WVHS that made a difference in your high school experience. Think outside the box, it doesn’t necessarily have to be one of your teachers that you have had, instead it could be someone that gave you a smile and an “hello” every morning. It could also be a secretary, custodian or kitchen staff member. Here is my one request- please make it heartfelt and genuine, after all, it could be the last opportunity for you to say something kind to an individual that made a difference in your life. Please plan on bringing these thank you notes to me at the pickup event so I can then pass them along accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out.

Thanks,
Shryock
